[[Nico's Sheet|Nico]] Andropov is a psychotherapist surgeon currently living in Jovian space. Tall and thin, as is normal for a spacer, with very pale skin that has the telltale blue tinge of a Mono addict.

=History=

===The Lost===

Only after the Fall would mankind be desperate enough to attempt the Futura Project. Desperation, tinged with hope, led to one of the most tragic blunders since the loss of Earth itself.

Nico Andropov was one of the first of the Futura to be born, part of the Beta Group. They, almost to an individual, showed great promise (as did many of the Futura children in general), until the horrible truth of their flaw was discovered. Of the entire Beta Group, only Nico survived, the others lost to madness and and unfortunate cannibalistic incident.

Even among the bright stars of the Beta Group, Nico was considered extraordinary. His mind was amazingly sharp, and he seemed to be able to wield Psi powers with an almost negligent ease. The cost, however, was high, as the youth was plague by horrible nightmares that soon evolved into a chronic inability to sleep. His use of mental augmentative drugs dates to this period, as they were often the only things that allowed him to concentrate enough to study, work, or draw.

Much like the rest of the Futura Children, Nico was plagued with more than one mental disorder. Not only was he suffering from a strange form of body dysmorphia, where he would become incredibly frustrated with his gender, he also showed signs of severe megalomania, verging on the sociopathic.

==Doctor Andropov==

After the end of the Futura Project, the now matured Nico entered the McGill University campus on [[Jovian Trojans#Locus|Locus]], majoring in Psychotherapy. Despite the severe disadvantage of being a survivor of the Futura project, he was able to convince the Dean to allow him in, claiming that he wished to use his abilities, and knowledge, to help heal those suffering from similar wounds as he.

He soon became the star pupil of his class, drawing much jealousy and scorn from his fellow students. It came to a head one evening, near the end of the final semester. Nico, as usual, was humiliating the other students in the class and a small group of them decided it was time this Lost learned his place. Five of them cornered him in a darkened alley. Two of them made it back to class the next day, not wanting to talk about what happened. Two of them turned up, dead, a few weeks apart, their deaths blamed on the underworld. The fifth, and self-proclaimed leader of the posse, was never seen again.

Nico graduated top of the class, and easily gained his PhD and practitioners license from the Board of Psychiatrists. His psychosurgical techniques soon became the talk of the system, and his name spread throughout the rest of colonized space. He was not only a skilled psychotherapist, but he had gotten a license to practise plastic surgery as well, adding to his already considerable income.

==A Quest==

Unbeknown to just about everyone, Nico is consumed with an idea that seems almost insane. He had never been able to find a suitable companion, of either gender, in his ten years of life, and so he has decided to create one for himself.

The spark first lit the evening of the attack by his classmates. He took the fifth student back to his home and began a long, slow process of mental and emotional reprogramming, coupled with extensive physical alterations, until he created the perfect slave for the prostitution rings of the lawless sectors of space. He programmed the new personality to be perfectly pliable and servile, while keeping the *true* personality of the student awake and aware, buried under layers and layers of extensive mental reconstruction. After he sold his creation, he began to ponder making his own perfect companion in a similar fashion. The idea soon blossomed to an obsession, one which often filled the sleepless Jovian nights.

=Home=

Nico's practise is settled in a three storey building. The top floor is the apartment and living quarters for the young psychosurgeon. The second floor is the surgery, set up for the two kinds of surgery Nico is trained for. The ground floor is the entrance hall and counsellor room. Each level is aproximately seven meters by seven meters by ten meters.

===The Surgery===

The setup is basic; the floor is split into four rooms, each leading into each other from the stairwell. The first, and smallest, is the observation room, where family and friends can, if they wish, watch the surgical procedures on high definition wall-mounted monitors. The second is the prep room, where Nico and the patient are both cleaned and dressed for the operation. The third room is the Psychosurgical hall, set up with comfortable seats, low lighting, and a calming pain scheme. The last, and largest, is the physical surgical room, which looks like any other medical facility you'd find in a proper hospital; swinging light fixtures, a series of monitors and fine cameras, an instrument sterilizer, and so on.

===The Counsellor Hall===

This is the floor directly connected to the front door, and opens on a small foyer and waiting room. There is no receptionist, though a monitor and speaker setup allows Nico's Muse to greet visitors and alert the doctor to their arrival.

What Nico calls the "Therapy Room" takes up the majority of the floor, with soft lighting and well placed speaker setups to pump soft music in. There are no windows, but each wall hosts several drawings or paintings, some of them Nico's own work, to add a more casual ambiance to the sessions.
